What Cleaning Won't Fix
We believe in transparency. A professional clean works wonders — but it's not a magic cure for everything.
The Full Picture
Cleaning solves real problems — but some issues need different solutions entirely.
Cleaning Will Fix
- Overheating caused by dust buildup
- Loud or constantly running fans
- Thermal throttling under load
- Dried-out thermal paste degradation
- Heat-related shutdowns and crashes
- Extending hardware lifespan
Cleaning Won't Fix
- Failing hard drives or SSDs
- Viruses, malware, or software corruption
- Slow performance from outdated hardware
- Bad internet or Wi-Fi problems
- Physical damage or liquid spills
- Dead or dying components (GPU, RAM, PSU)
Common Issues We Can't Clean Away
If your PC has any of these problems, a clean alone won't solve them — but we'll always let you know what we find.
Failing or Dead Hardware
A hard drive making clicking noises, RAM causing blue screens, or a GPU with visual artefacts — these are hardware failures. No amount of dust removal will revive a component that's reached the end of its life.
Software & Malware Problems
Viruses, bloatware, corrupted Windows installations, and rogue programs that hog your CPU — these live in software, not in dust. A clean PC with infected software will still run terribly.
Outdated or Underpowered Specs
If your PC has 4GB of RAM and a 10-year-old processor, it's going to struggle with modern software regardless of how clean it is. Sometimes the hardware simply can't keep up with what you're asking it to do.
Internet & Network Issues
Slow downloads, buffering streams, and laggy video calls are almost always about your broadband connection, router, or Wi-Fi signal — not dust inside your PC. Cleaning won't speed up your internet.
Physical & Liquid Damage
Spilled coffee, a dropped laptop, cracked screens, bent CPU pins, or bulging capacitors — these need repair or replacement, not cleaning. We'll spot these during inspection and let you know, but cleaning can't undo physical damage.
Is It Dust or Something Else?
Not sure if a clean will help? These clues can point you in the right direction.
Probably dust
PC gets louder over time, especially under load. Temperatures have crept up gradually. It used to run fine but now throttles during games or heavy work.
Probably hardware
Sudden crashes with no warning, weird visual glitches, clicking noises from drives, or the PC won't turn on at all. These usually point to a failing component.
Probably dust
Laptop feels very hot to the touch. You can see dust in the vents. The fan sounds like a jet engine. It hasn't been cleaned in over a year.
Probably software
PC is slow from the moment it boots. Pop-ups and strange programs appear. Everything takes ages to load even when temps are fine. Browser redirects to odd pages.
Why Cleaning Still Matters
Even if cleaning doesn't solve everything, it's still one of the best things you can do for your PC.
We'll Spot Problems
During every clean we inspect your hardware. If we find a failing component or damage, we'll tell you — so you can fix the right thing.
Prevents Future Damage
Heat is the enemy of electronics. Keeping your PC clean and cool prevents premature failure of the components you already have.
Maximises Performance
A clean system runs at its full potential. If your hardware is capable, removing thermal bottlenecks lets it do what it was designed to do.
Not Sure? Book Anyway.
We'll diagnose what's going on during the clean. If it's something we can't fix, we'll tell you exactly what can — no charge for honesty.
